Although I never had the opportunity to study with

Although I never had the opportunity to study with Sharath Jois directly, I am profoundly aware that without him, my practice would not be what it is today. My teachers, who spent years learning under his guidance, passed on his teachings with respect, awe, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Without him, I wouldn’t have had the incredible teachers who have shaped me, nor would I be the person I am today.

My heartfelt condolences to Sharath Jois’ family and to everyone who studied under his wisdom.

May your legacy continue in every student’s breath.

First time in Southeast Asia, and I’ve found a beautiful, simple shala tucked away in the mountains. This morning, I walked the 20-minute path down through the rainforest, along the railway, past a distant waterfall, and into the village—a little journey to the shala where I practiced Tibetan yoga for the first time.

The shalas here are different from those in the West. They’re simple and minimalist, yet they hold everything essential: YOGA 🔥

Sie ist eine Reinkarnation von Lakshmi, die eng mit Hochheit, Führung, Intelligenz und der Fähigkeit, Limitierungen zu überwinden, verbunden ist. Sītā wurde aus der Erde geboren und kehrte zur Erde zurück, nachdem sie ihre göttliche Aufgabe erfüllt hatte. Despite many obstacles and some overwhelming weeks

Despite many obstacles and some overwhelming weeks, I made it to study with @eddiestern this weekend, diving into Pranayama, Yoga, and the Neuroendocrine System. I’m really grateful that, after attending one or two workshops online during the pandemic, I finally had the chance to study with him in person.

And I did get my book signed. 📖🤓

🔥 In various Yoga practices like the Ashtanga system, asana begins with Suryanamaskara, generating heat that transforms the body into a more fluid state, softening it and inducing sweat.
🔥 The metaphor of turning lead into gold represents freeing the spirit from material constraints, a shared aim of both alchemy and yoga, illustrating yoga’s alchemical nature.

🥑 An ode to the last aguacate (from the season) hanging in my friend’s garden in Yucatán, México—its flesh: soft, sweet and yellow.

Historical records trace the origins of the avocado over 10,000 years ago, with remains of the Persea americana Mill species unearthed in a cave in Coxcatlán, Puebla, Mexico.

Its name comes from the Nahuatl „ahuacatl“, which means „testicles of the tree“.

Have you noticed the subtle change in the air recently? Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed the trees outside my window gradually turning green, mirroring the rise in my own energy levels and the lightening of the layers I wear. It’s the unmistakable sign of spring’s arrival! 🌱🌞

🌱 With the advent of spring, my new Morning Flow classes on the boat have commenced. Every Thursday at 10:00, we’ll gather on Rummelsburg Lake to practice yoga on board a anchored boat. ⛴️ @kulturschiff_paula
🌞 Weather permitting, we’ll practice on deck, embracing the fresh air and gentle lake breeze while taking in the serene surroundings. What a delightful way to flow!

For the last few years I have been offering regular classes in German only, and from time to time people have asked me about classes in English and in a more central location. And now I finally allow myself to do it.

⛴️ Every Thursday you can come from 19:15-20:15 to practice yoga and meditation with me in the beautiful @kulturschiff_paula, a boat anchored in Friedrichshain at the Rummelsburg Lake.

The focus of the class lies on meditation. However, we also practise asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) to prepare the body for meditation.

⛴️ To make it more accessible, I have introduced a sliding scale pricing for all class passes.
If you can’t afford it atm but want to come practice, please contact me. We’ll figure something out. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

2024 is the year I finally opened a class in English. Now you can come and practice yoga and meditation with me every Thursday from 19:15-20:15 on board a beautiful boat in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
The classes take place inside when it is cold and on deck when the sun is shining.

Progress!! Finally, I can do backbends again! ❤️‍🔥
Over the past two years, backbends have been quite a challenge for me. They felt awful!

The ease of backbending varies from person to person due to several factors. One is of course, anatomy, such as the shape of our bones or how much stress is building up between our vertebrae or along the fascia. The strength in arms and legs play also an important role in asanas as Urdva Dhanurasana.
Interestingly, emotions come into play too, as muscle tension, anxiety, or fear can have a substantial impact on our performance.

In my case, it was mainly an emotional journey. I had to respect my body's signals and refrained from deep backbends, focusing on rebuilding both my body and mind's security in those poses.
❤️‍🔥 Recently, I surprised myself, gliding smoothly and deeply into my backbend like I used to. It took two years and this is the photo of the exact moment!!
Now I must stick to my practice to maintain this progress. 🔥

Just returned from my much-needed vacation! It was

Just returned from my much-needed vacation! It was a break I eagerly anticipated and urgently needed. 🌴 Not only I reduced my screen time by 80% and immersed myself in breathtaking landscapes with cats that reminded me of my home-country, but I got to experience Santosha, the niyama of contentment.

Big cities like Berlin can make us forget that we need very little to find happiness. Daily temptations create a belief that something is missing, fueling an endless cycle of wanting more. Today, I realized I fell into that trap.
🌞Grateful for the chance to disconnect, explore, and witness awe-inspiring landscapes, I now understand that what I have is truly enough.
